This year, the Google Mongolia team will cover new areas in the western part of the country, specifically roads in the Bulgan aimag such as Rashaan (Mongolian: Рашант) near the Elsen Tasarkhai Sand Dune (Mongolian: Элсэн тасархай), in addition to Biger (Mongolian: Бигэр) in the Govi-Altai Aimag.

This will be one of the first steps to introduce imagery Gen 4 to other regions of Mongolia and new locations are expected to be added in the process. The information had been confirmed by the official Google Street View Mongolia page via Facebook.

In addition, Mongolian authorities confirmed that Google plans to cover other sites such as Darkhan, Ulaangom, Uliastai and Kharkhorin this year. The last updates these regions received were in 2015 and 2016.
